National Semiconductor – Animated e-Card

About This Project

This challenging project was an animated electronic holiday e-card for National Semiconductor’s employees to send to their clients, vendors, coworkers with a personalized message. Users went to an internal web page, and customized the card using form fields. Recipients received an email with a link to retrieve the card. The e-card also included motion animation and music.

On the back end, the challenges were email address verification, confirmation of transmission, and proper email formatting for retrieval by recipient’s email programs. The back-end programming was done in PHP, with a last-minute client change to PERL. This was rolled out internationally across all of National Semiconductor.

I created the visual design, user flow, and built the Flash front end, as well as managed the project. I brought in a developer to write the back end scripts to tie everything together.
